Surface Trunking

When it isn’t possible to hide cables and wires underneath flooring or in wall and ceiling recesses, surface trunking is the perfect solution. Why underfloor trunking provides an effective and efficient solution

in screed trunking vertical bend

Underfloor trunking systems are designed for screeded floor installations where a recessed lid depth greater than 6.5mm is required. Ideal for commercial spaces, these systems are buried within the floor screed and allow essential services such as power, data, and AV to be routed discreetly beneath finished flooring.

Fully compatible with Cableduct's service box range, underfloor trunking offers a clean, unobtrusive solution for distributing services across open-plan environments. Junction boxes enable flexible direction changes and branching, making layout adjustments straightforward during or after installation.

These systems are particularly well-suited for offices, retail spaces, and public buildings where futureproofing and minimal visual impact are key. Engineered for durability and ease of installation, they offer a comprehensive solution for floor-level cable management in modern commercial interiors.

How do I choose the right trunking system for my project?

The right trunking system depends on your installation type, cable capacity, and environment. For example, dado trunking is ideal for mid-wall installations in offices or schools, while skirting trunking suits low-level cable runs. If you're unsure, our team can advise based on your project requirements — just get in touch.

What sizes and configurations do you offer?

We offer a wide range of trunking widths, depths, and multi-compartment options to suit different cable volumes and applications. Full technical drawings and product specifications are available in our Downloads section.

Can you supply bespoke trunking designs or shapes?

Yes — we specialise in bespoke trunking solutions. Whether you need custom dimensions, curved sections, or a design that matches parquet flooring or complex layouts, we can manufacture to suit. See our Tailored Solutions for more.

What materials and finishes are available?

Our trunking is available in stainless steel, aluminium, powder-coated steel and more. We also offer premium finishes like antique brass or bronze to complement interior design schemes or architectural requirements.

How much space should I allow for installing trunking?

This varies depending on the type of trunking and where it’s installed. Surface and perimeter trunking require minimal depth, while underfloor trunking needs more planning for screed or slab integration. Refer to our Downloads for detailed installation guidance.
