Make your floor box ‘nearly invisible’ within your floor covering

‘Discreet means discreet’: Floor box is scarcely visible once floor covering has been fitted into the lid – barely 10% of observable metal.

700 series and Minima lids are hand-finished and can be custom-made to suit the thickness of your floor covering (incl. adhesive).

Lid recess depth can be customised from 3mm to 30mm.

Masters of camouflage

Peacock Flounder

Peacock Flounder fish are found in relatively shallow waters in the Indo-Pacific. They use cryptic coloration to avoid being detected by both prey and predators. They have the ability to constantly change colours and patterns to blend into their surroundings and the sea-floor. They were even able to match the pattern of a checkerboard that they were placed on.

Four frames of the same fish taken a few minutes apart show the ability of flounders to change colours to suit the surroundings.

The barely-visible Cableduct 700 series floor box integrates perfectly into a mosaic tiled floor.

  • Timber / Engineered wood

    Timber / Engineered wood (7mm-25mm)

Beautiful wood floor coverings, such as classic parquet or more modern chevron flooring, are used in all sorts of buildings. At Cableduct, we can design bespoke-shaped floor boxes to discreetly integrate into a section of timber flooring, including parquet, chevron or plank designs. Our bespoke floor boxes are designed to fit unobtrusively into the surrounding planking to suit widths, corners and ends.

    Porcelain / Stone tiles

    Porcelain / Stone tiles (9mm-25mm)

Stone floor tiles are a durable and attractive floor covering. They are used in various retail and leisure settings because of their low maintenance levels and resistance to high levels of footfall. Our bespoke floor boxes can be custom designed to fit into a section of stone flooring. Different sized base boxes can be used to ensure that the floor box is perfectly aligned with the surrounding tiles. Lids can then be customised to meet any specifications.

    Poured finish

Poured finish (polished screed, microcement, terrazzo, resin)

Poured finishes, such as polished screed, microcement, terrazzo and resin are a versatile flooring material. They can be specified in almost any sized sections and a variety of different shapes. Fortunately, our bespoke boxes can be matched to perfectly fit into the corner of any size and shape of poured finish section.

Carpet / Carpet & Vinyl tiles

    Carpet / Carpet & Vinyl tiles (1mm-25mm)

For a plush and luxurious internal floor covering nothing compares to carpeting. When you need a cable access point in a carpeted floor, you want it to be designed and positioned as discreetly as possible to tie in with the carpet pattern. At Cableduct, we can create bespoke floor boxes with a completely flush finish for use in carpeted floors and a handy cable exit flap to provide easy access whenever needed.

    Flat lids

Flat lids (metal lid; no lid recess)

Floor boxes with flat lids have metal lids and no lid recess and can be adapted to different situations. Typically, these are fitted in high-traffic areas for pedestrians or where heavier loads are moved over them from time to time. Flat lids on floor boxes are particularly popular in automotive showrooms, auction houses and multi-use event spaces. In these circumstances, they are often combined with an extra-strength lid with 4mm reinforcement plate. Our bespoke floor boxes can also be designed to fit discreetly within a run of grilles and to blend in with the grille’s aesthetic.
