What’s the difference between a recessed floor box and a standard floor socket?

Recessed floor boxes are designed to accept floor finishes such as carpet, vinyl, tile or wood within the lid, so they sit flush with the surrounding floor. Standard floor sockets typically have a visible lid.

Can I use these in both raised and screed floor systems?

Yes. We supply recessed floor boxes for both types of floor construction. Box depths and lid types will vary based on your floor build-up.

Are the boxes height adjustable?

Yes. Raised floor boxes come with adjustable frames to align with your finished floor level. Screed floor versions are supplied with pre-set or adjustable depth options.

Are they suitable for high-traffic areas?

Yes. Our recessed floor boxes are manufactured to meet the requirements of commercial and public environments, tested to BS EN 50085.

Are your products made in the UK?

Yes. All Cableduct floor boxes and components are manufactured in our London facility, allowing full control over quality, lead times, and custom options.

Can I order a sample unit or request a site visit?

Yes. We offer sample units for project approval and can arrange site visits depending on location and project scale. Contact us to discuss further.
