Trim frame: no base box
If a trim frame is being used, you have the option of just a loose lay lid and frame. Note that the trim frame is not intended to be load bearing: table legs should not be placed on grommet.
Trim frame: base box
What ever base is used the trim frame will be proud of the surrounding floor unless recessed. With a standard large base all levelling can happen prior to floor being laid. With a retro style base the 8mm material thickness needs to be accounted for.
Trimless frame: standard base box
The base box is larger than the top round frame. The base is mounted on the sub-floor, and the final floor covering conceals the metal flange. The round lid and frame are levelled to FFL using a height adjustable inner frame. This must be done prior to the finished floor being laid. If the grommet is for access only please request a cut out in the base.
Trimless frame: retro style base
If the finished floor is already laid, the retro style box allows a hole to be made to exactly fit the top frame. The base must be site fixed. Only upward adjustment is possible. If the grommet is for access only you can request either just the height ajustable inner frame, or for base box to have base cut out.
