Introducing Cableduct’s new 169mm Round Floor box: more choice, more capacity, more versatility

At Cableduct, we are delighted to unveil an important new size within our round floor box range: the new 169mm round floor box. Designed and engineered for projects that need a round floor box with all the best features of both our small 127mm diameter “cleaner’s grommet” and our larger 193mm diameter floor box. Still small but easier to install and use than our 127mm floor box and more powerful, providing double sockets with excellent power & data options like the 193mm floor box. In boxing terminology, our new 169mm floor box “punches well above its weight.”

Designed to integrate seamlessly with Cableduct’s existing floor box ranges, the 169mm diameter round floor box is available in both the classic 700 Series and the contemporary Minima ranges. We have developed this exciting new round floor box size as a result of customer feedback and it provides more than double the power & data capacity of  a 127mm diameter floor box while being only 30% bigger.

Plastic moulded plugs and in particular plug flexes have been getting steadily bigger and longer for years, leaving the 127mm diameter floor box an ever-more challenging fit for them.

Cableduct’s new 169mm round floor box, bridges the capacity gap between traditional cleaner’s grommet (127mm) and larger two compartment floor box (193mm). It has been designed to service both the 127mm diameter single socket floor box market and the market for a floor box that can take one twin socket or a single socket and two data points, making it the new ‘master of all trades’. With more space for larger modern plugs and longer plug flexes, a one compartment solution for a twin switched socket, or a one compartment solution for a single socket and twin data, this new size delivers the best of both worlds: small enough to remain discreet within the floor finish, yet large enough to offer the full functionality modern spaces demand.
